The new cards will be manufactured using tamper-resistant polycarbonate, a durable material that is difficult to reproduce and fully compliant with American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) standards. In place of the traditional gold star to indicate REAL ID Compliance, the card's updated design features a black, laser engraved star in the upper right corner. 

IDEMIA's next-generation credentials are designed with advanced security features and cutting-edge materials to ensure the highest level of protection and compliance, underscoring IDEMIA's commitment to innovation, security, and public trust in identity verification systems.
