HAGERSTOWN, Md., Aug. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- See warbirds, modern aircraft, classic cars, trucks, airplane rides, live music, local businesses and food. This event is a great day for the family to visit the airport and learn about Hagerstown's aviation Past, Present, and Future.
Bring the family out to climb aboard the museum's historic Fairchild C-82 and C-119 Flying Boxcars, C-123K Provider and F-27. See the newest addition, the Fairchild-Republic A-10C Thunderbolt II "Warthog" and other museum aircraft such as the 1928 Kreider Reisner KR-31 biplane, 1943 Fairchild PT-19 WWII Trainer, Fairchild 22, Fairchild 24, and XNQ all built in Hagerstown. The museum has 30 historic aircraft and is the largest collection of historic Fairchild Aircraft in the world.
Visitors can step back in time and experience a memorable flight in the Hagerstown Aviation Museum's 1943 Fairchild UC-61 and 1943 PT-19 Primary Trainer! Thousands of allied pilots earned their wings during WWII in this historic aircraft built by Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, Maryland. By making a $200 donation, you can experience the thrill of open cockpit flying! Flights are first come, first served, and weather permitting. Sign up at the ride tent.

Experimental Aircraft Association EAA Chapter 36 will offer Young Eagle Rides for Youth! Children ages 8-17 can take a free flight. Advance registration required via www.eaachapters.org. Registration opens August 31, 2026 at 8:00 am.
The Civil Air Patrol and other organizations will have exhibits and aircraft on display.
The museum has partnered with Paws and Pistons to manage the Cruise-In of antique and classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles! Owners can register their vehicle on site ($10 per vehicle) for the Classic Cruise-In and the first 200 vehicles receive a custom event dash plaque! Also, see fire, law enforcement, rescue, construction, historic military, and other vehicles.
The New Horizons Band will perform patriotic and big band tunes in the museum hangar from 12 noon to 1pm.
Food, Ice Cream, and Concessions are available from Local Vendors.
Admission by donation. (Suggested $10 donation per person) Your donations support future museum events and help continued rehabilitation of the museum's home in the original 1943 Fairchild Aircraft Flight Test Hangar, also known as the Dome Hangar.
