Educators receive checks to help offset out-of-pocket classroom expenses following annual fundraising campaign at Twin Peaks and Bread Zeppelin restaurants
Houston, TX (RestaurantNews.com) Avalanche Food Group celebrated teachers from across the state on Aug. 15, distributing $68,000 in checks to educators following the successful completion of its annual Teacher Grant campaign.
The August 15th celebration brought together teachers and members of the Avalanche Food Group team to recognize educators and provide direct financial support as they head into the new school year.
Over the past three years, $181,000 has been distributed with the help of guests at participating Avalanche Food Group restaurants, including Twin Peaks and Bread Zeppelin locations.
Throughout the summer campaign, customers were encouraged to support teachers by rounding up their checks at participating restaurants and purchasing raffle tickets, with funds raised going toward teacher grants.
The annual program was created to help ease some of the financial burden placed on educators, many of whom spend their own money each year purchasing classroom supplies, educational materials and necessities for their students.
“Seeing the teachers receive these checks is what this entire campaign is about,” said John Rosa, co-owner of Avalanche Food Group. “Our guests continue to show up for educators in an incredible way, and we are proud that together we were able to put $68,000 directly into the hands of teachers who do so much for their students and communities.”
Avalanche Food Group launched the annual giveback initiative as part of its broader commitment to supporting the communities surrounding its restaurants. The company’s 2025 campaign distributed more than $78,000 to more than 130 teachers across more than 30 school districts in Texas and Indiana.
This year’s August 15th event served as the culmination of weeks of fundraising and community participation, giving Avalanche Food Group the opportunity to personally celebrate grant recipients and recognize the work teachers do inside and outside the classroom.
For the company, the program is about more than providing classroom supplies. It is an opportunity to remind educators that the businesses and guests in the communities they serve see their work and want to support it.
Founded in 2009 by Houston brothers John, Joe and Ricky Rosa, Avalanche Food Group owns and operates multiple Twin Peaks restaurants across Texas and Indiana, as well as Bread Zeppelin locations in Houston. The company has made community involvement a core part of its operations, with initiatives supporting teachers, veterans, first responders and other local causes.
